The Fashion District is a great place to get discounts on local fashions, fabrics, leathers and furs. There is a wide selection of bridal and fashion outlets for all of your shopping needs. Also, with its close proximity to the Toronto Entertainment District and the Harbourfront, there is plenty of entertainment and recreation nearby. This makes it an ideal location for work and play – with great restaurants, sporting venues, theatres, nightlife and many office buildings nearby.

History

Toronto’s Fashion District began to emerge in the 1920s, and used to be situated closer to the King Street & Spadina area. It used to be called “The Garment District” and was the centre for fashion and textiles. Many of the original buildings and store signs still stand today.
